Here are 5 suggestions on things that DJs may want to avoid doing on Instagram, as they may not contribute positively to their social media presence.
Sending a Download link to your latest track or Mix. With so much spam flying around and accounts getting hacked, people are reluctant to download a link from someone they don’t know. So instead send a listen link that is downloadable so they can listen first.
Posting small letterbox size images. If your image is too small people who are scrolling through their phone could miss your post or be distracted by what’s coming next. Instead make sure every post is 1080 wide x 1350 tall.
Sending a DM to a new follower with your latest track or remix without first saying hello or starting a conversation. Instead start by introducing yourself start a conversation then when you know what style of music they like send the relevant track.
Not Optimising Your Bio. Some DJs use poorly like profile pictures or have no information in their bio about them. Instead try writing what you do what makes you special and why I should follow you along with a call to action to do something like listen to my new track below or click below to find my gig information.
Over promoting your Gigs. Some DJs only post their next gig details or next track release. Instead start mixing up your content with some behind the scenes shots of your life and what you get up to when you’re not DJing or inspirational posts about how you’re started out.
